IN THIS SECTION
Dear Students, Esteemed Academics, Researchers, and Visitors,
Our department continues its educational and research activities with determination, guided by the vision of understanding environmental problems on a scientific basis, developing sustainable solutions, and implementing them for the benefit of society. In today’s world, issues such as environmental sustainability, climate change, natural resource management, water and air quality, waste management, and energy efficiency are not only technical matters but also areas of social responsibility. With this awareness, our department adopts as its primary goal the integration of the analytical strength of engineering with the principles of environmental ethics and sustainability.
Our educational approach is built upon a student-centered and competency-based framework. Our priority is to equip our students not only with theoretical knowledge but also with problem-solving, critical thinking, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills. Our up-to-date curriculum combines fundamental engineering knowledge with modern environmental technologies, aiming to prepare our students to adapt to rapidly evolving scientific and technological developments. Laboratory practices, field studies, project-based learning, and research-oriented activities are integral components of our educational process.
Our department has a strong research culture that promotes academic excellence and scientific productivity. Our faculty members conduct research at both national and international levels in various areas of environmental engineering, producing knowledge in critical fields such as sustainable water management, air pollution modeling, climate change impacts, environmental impact assessment, waste recovery, and innovative treatment technologies. Our research activities extend beyond academic publications and are transformed into societal benefits through collaborations with industry, public institutions, and local authorities.
National and international collaborations hold a significant place in our department’s development strategy. Through student and academic exchange programs, joint projects, and participation in scientific networks, we support global knowledge sharing. The global nature of environmental challenges requires engineering solutions to be addressed from an international perspective. In this regard, our department encourages interaction with stakeholders from diverse cultures and disciplines.
As the Department of Environmental Engineering, our primary objective is to educate engineers who are committed to ethical values, guided by scientific reasoning, innovative, and socially responsible. We value our graduates not only as technical experts but also as advocates of environmental sustainability. In line with this goal, we continuously improve our educational and research activities and place great importance on quality assurance and academic transparency.
We thank all our stakeholders who visit our page and would be pleased for you to learn more about our department.
Sincerely,
Head of the Department
